Fuel Level Instrument

The fuel instrument is only available when your aircraft setup includes fuel information that Gaggle can use during recording.

When the widget appears

You will typically see the fuel widget after configuring a powered aircraft with the relevant fuel details in your equipment setup. Depending on your aircraft and connected sensors, Gaggle can then estimate current fuel state while you fly.

If the widget is not visible, check that:

• you are flying with an engine-based equipment profile
• the aircraft has the required fuel configuration
• any connected telemetry source is paired and sending data when applicable

Set fuel before you fly

On the Record start screen, a fuel row shows for a powered paraglider with an engine selected, and for other aircraft with a fuel tank.

• If the engine has no tank size yet, the row reads Tap here to set your tank size and fuel consumption. Tap it to open the engine in your equipment and enter them. See Equipment.
• Once the tank size is set, the row shows a fuel gauge marked E, 1/2 and 1/1. Tap or drag along the gauge to set how full the tank is.
• Tap the fuel icon and number beside the gauge to type an exact amount. The Fuel Level dialog has a number pad; tap the check to save.

Opening the fuel details in flight

Tap the fuel widget to open the Fuel and Engine sheet. The top half is built around the live fuel gauge and an editable fuel level. Tap the level to type a new amount if you refuelled or your estimate is off.

The fuel half also shows:

• Into Wind
• Travel Time
• Heading

These values help you judge both endurance and the practical effect of your current direction and wind.

Engine readings

Below the fuel section, the sheet shows engine readings when your connected engine sensor sends them:

• CHT: cylinder head temperature
• EGT: exhaust gas temperature
• RPM: engine speed
• Amb. Temp: ambient air temperature

The values you see depend on the sensor you use. Temperatures show in your selected temperature unit.

Tips

• If you adjust the fuel level after takeoff, use the fuel detail panel so the recorder reflects your current estimate.
• For the most useful readout, make sure your engine profile is configured accurately before starting the recorder.
• Do not rely on the widget as your only fuel-management method; use it as an in-app aid alongside your normal flight checks and procedures.
