We’re thrilled to share the latest updates in Gaggle, designed to improve your flying experience. Here’s what’s new in the October 2024 release:
- Trial Subscription Indicator: Pilots will now see a clear notification on the home page when they’re using a trial subscription, helping you stay informed about your account status.
- Emergency Alerts Tweaks: We’ve refined the messaging for emergency alerts and addressed issues that caused false triggers. Safety first, always!
- Explore Map Enhancements: Searching on the explore map is now more reliable, delivering a smoother and more accurate browsing experience.
- Premium Feature Indicators: Functions that require a premium subscription will now show an indicator if you’re not subscribed, helping you know exactly what’s included.
- Improved Airspace Loading: Airspace data is now more reliable across all devices. We’ve fixed an issue that prevented airspaces from loading on some phones.
- Live Tracking Map Updates: If a pilot is not currently flying, you’ll now see their status on the live tracking map, making it easier to keep track of friends.
- Tracking Line on Live Map: You’ll now see a flight path line on the live tracking map, helping you visualize where pilots have been flying.
- Flight Recording Fix: A bug where Gaggle was using backup recordings instead of the main one for final flight data has been fixed, ensuring full and accurate flight recordings.
- Language Settings: Gaggle now supports setting a different language for your account, independent of your phone’s language. Contact us to change your account language.
- Group Recording Control: Group admins can now delete a recording from the group, which will remove it from the hall of fame and leaderboards.
- Flight Scoring Adjustments: We’ve improved the scoring for leaderboards and hall of fame, so even low and slow flights get their proper recognition.
- Variometer Enhancements: The variometer has been tweaked to be more reliable and prevent audio glitches.
- Thermal Finder Zoom Levels: We’ve fine-tuned zoom levels in the thermal finder to make it easier to track thermals, especially based on your aircraft’s speed.
- New Prediction Vector Map: A new map setting draws a line showing where you’ll be in 10 minutes if you continue at the current speed and direction—perfect for planning your flight path on the go.
Fly safe and enjoy these updates! Your feedback helps us continue to soar higher. As always, happy flying!
