XContest and PureTrack

Profile > Settings > Integrations > XContest or PureTrack

Link your Gaggle account to XContest to upload your flights, and to XContest and PureTrack to share your live position while you fly.

You can also open these pages from the Integrations section of the recorder settings when the recorder is not running. See Recording overview.

Plan

XContest and PureTrack need the Frequent Flyer plan or higher. Without it, both rows show a Premium chip. The PureTrack switch still turns on, but Gaggle sends live tracking to PureTrack only while your subscription is active.

Connect XContest

1. Open XContest and turn on Enabled.
2. Tap Username, enter your XContest username and tap Save.
3. Tap Password, enter your XContest password and tap Save. Gaggle encrypts the password and stores it securely.
4. Turn on Auto Upload to send future flights to XContest automatically.

If the login fails, the page shows Invalid credentials. Enter your details again.

For a post-flight upload to be public, set Share Recordings to My Groups or Everyone. If it is set to anything else, a warning shows on this page. See Privacy & Security.

XContest live tracking

Turn on Live Tracking to send your position to XContest while you fly. Gaggle can also receive nearby XContest traffic. Gaggle asks you to enter your XContest password once on this device.

XContest live tracking always creates a public flight on XContest. Your Share Location setting in Gaggle does not change this: even with Private or Close Friends, anyone on XContest can follow your position. Leave Live Tracking off for flights you want to keep private.

Once you have saved your login details, a card titled Enable XContest live tracking can appear. Tap Enable live tracking to turn it on, or Dismiss to hide the card.

With Live Tracking on, Claim contest flight asks XContest to claim the live-tracked flight for contest scoring when the landing is submitted.

Connect PureTrack

1. Open PureTrack and turn on Enabled. Gaggle then sends live tracking data to PureTrack as you fly.
2. Your Tracker ID shows below the switch. It is your unique device ID for PureTrack.

Upload one flight to XContest

With Enabled on, each uploaded recording shows an XContest row in its settings. Open the recording and go to the Info tab to find it. See Flight recording.

1. Tap Upload on the XContest row.
2. A spinner shows while Gaggle sends the flight.
3. When the upload works, the Upload button changes to the XContest flight number. Tap the number to open the flight on XContest.

If the upload fails, the row shows Unexpected Error and the Upload button stays. Tap Upload to try again. If the row shows Invalid credentials., open XContest in your settings, enter your username and password again, then upload the flight again.

The row only shows on your own recordings, and only when XContest is Enabled.
