Watch a Replay

How to play, scrub and follow pilots in the replay of a meetup or competition, and what the replay options do.

Watch a Replay

The replay of a meetup or competition plays back the pilots of a leaderboard on one map. It is different from the replay of your own recording. For your own flights, see Replay a Flight.

Open a replay

  1. Open the leaderboard of the competition.
  2. Open the Event replays list.
  3. Tap a session marked Ready. A session marked Recording opens the live view. A session marked Processing cannot be opened yet.

The control bar

The bar at the bottom of the map holds the controls.

ControlWhat it does
Follow lockLocks the map on the followed pilot. The tooltip reads Select a pilot to follow until you pick one, then Lock to followed by the pilot’s name. When locked it reads Unlock pilot follow. Double-tap it to reset the zoom.
Replay FlightPlays or pauses. A spinner shows while the replay loads.
SpeedPicks 10x, 20x or 40x. The default is 20x.

SliderDrag to move through the replay. The time beside it shows where you are.

While a live session is still growing, the Speed control is hidden.

Replay speeds are faster than the speeds for your own recordings. The two do not match.

Replay options

  • Auto-zoom keeps the map zoomed on the followed pilot.
  • Live preview, As it happened and Final results choose how the competition is shown. They appear only when the replay has more than one version. Live preview shows the latest live scoring view. As it happened lets you watch the competition unfold, moment by moment. Final results applies final scores and corrections at their event time.
  • Terrain and Satellite choose the base map. A layers button with Map layers in its tooltip does the same on some layouts.
  • Latest replay frame jumps to the newest frame. It is available while a frame is selected.

A check mark shows the current choice.

Follow pilots

Tap a pilot’s marker, card or row to follow them. See Spectator Course, Standings and Scored Panels.

Moments list

The Recent activity tab of a replay lists the moments of the replay. Tap one to follow its pilot. The list also loads more as you scroll to its ends. You can tap Load More: Latest replay frame at the top for newer moments, or Load More: As it happened at the bottom for older ones. If the list does not load, tap Try again.

When a pilot’s flight ends

When the followed pilot lands and their flight ends, a card reads that pilot’s flight ended and gives the last position time. Tap View flight to open the recording, when the pilot has one.

Commentary

Replays can play spoken commentary. See Live and Replay Commentary.
