Marshal Entry
Record judged task results and economy weigh-ins as a marshal, with the task list, the pilot list and the number keypad.
Marshal Entry
Community > My Groups > Select your competition > Competition manager > Marshal entry
Marshals record what they see on the ground: where a pilot first touched the target, how many pins fell, how much fuel a pilot used. Gaggle turns the readings into points. Marshal entry covers judged tasks and economy tasks.
On a phone, this section is in the More tab of the competition manager. Tap More, then Marshal entry.
You need the Marshal role, or be a scorer or group admin. Marshals see only Marshal entry in the competition manager. Organisers give the role in Competition Roles and Registration Fields.
Pick a task
Marshal entry opens Tasks to record. Each judged or economy task shows how many results are recorded, such as “6 of 20 recorded”. Tap a task.
If the list is empty, it says No judged or economy tasks yet. Organisers add them as leaderboards. The event has none yet, so ask an organiser to add them. If a task says it has no setup, an organiser must pick its preset first.
Find a pilot
The task page lists the event’s pilots.
- Use Search by number or name.
- On a judged task, the pilots are split into To record and Recorded.
- On an economy task, use the Before take-off and After landing tabs. Pilots are grouped as Landed, to weigh, Still to weigh, Weighed and Not landed yet. A line such as “3 still flying” lists who is still in the air. Tap it to open their rows. Gaggle learns that a pilot has landed from the pilot’s tracking, and the tracking can be late. If a pilot is already on the ground, open their row from this line and weigh them.
- The count at the top, such as “12 of 20 weighed”, shows your progress.
Tap a pilot to open their entry. A result waiting to reach the server shows Waiting to send.
Record a judged result
The form follows the task’s preset, so you see only the fields the task needs.
- Under Clean take-off on attempt, tap the attempt the pilot made. The points for it show beside each attempt.
- For First touch, tap the target where the pilot touched. Use the zones or strips, or Outside the target.
- For pins, set Pins knocked down with One more pin and One fewer pin, or tap the sticks that went down. Clear resets them.
- Count Missed targets with One more missed target and One fewer missed target.
- For timed or noise tasks, enter the Time from the stopwatch or the Reading from the meter. Gaggle warns you if a time is over the limit, and shows where a noise reading ranks among the quietest.
- Under Only if it happened, tick a fault such as Engine on at the gate, or gate missed or Fell over or two knees down. On a task with a minimum engine-off time, the fault reads Engine on at the gate, or off for under 3 s, with the task’s own number of seconds.
- Some tasks can be voided, with a switch such as Void: touched the ground outside the deck. A voided result shows Void · scores nothing.
- Tap Add a note if you need one.
- Tap Save. The button shows the points, such as Save · 40 points. If a fault applies, it says the scorer applies the fault.
If a reading is missing, the button says what to enter first, such as Tap the first touch or Enter the reading.
After you save, you return to the pilot list.
Record an economy weigh-in
An economy entry has a step before take-off and a step after landing. Use the Before take-off and After landing tabs on the task page.
- Before take-off, enter the Weight before take-off (kg) and the Fuel loaded, and tick Seal checked and intact.
- After landing, enter the Weight after landing (kg), and tick Seal intact and Residual OK.
- Tap Save.
The pilot’s row then shows the weights, the fuel used, and any issue such as Seal broken or Residual check failed.
On the After landing tab, the pilot’s card shows when they landed, for example landed 14:32, and what you recorded before take-off: Took off, Fuel loaded and Weighed. A row in the Landed, to weigh group reads like Landed 14:32 · 82.5 kg. Gaggle takes the landing time from the pilot’s flight. Each weigh-in is stored with the time you saved it and your name, and the Weighed row shows both. Economy weigh-ins have no stopwatch time and cannot be voided.
Gaggle works out the fuel used. It warns you if the weight after landing is not below the weight before take-off, or if more fuel was used than was loaded. A warning never stops you saving. Check the scales when you see one.
Number keypad
Numbers are entered on an on-screen keypad. It has the digits 0 to 9, a Decimal point and Delete.
