Claim your competition pilot profile
Use the organiser's claim link to move your competition pilot profile, flights and scoring history into your own Gaggle account.
Claim your competition pilot profile
An organiser can create a pilot profile for you before the event, for example from a registration spreadsheet. The profile holds your competition details, your competition flights and your scoring history. When you claim it, Gaggle moves the profile to your own account.
The organiser sends you a claim link by email or text message, or shares it with you directly. Treat the link as private. Anyone who has it can claim the profile.
Claim your profile
- Open the claim link on your phone. Gaggle shows Claim pilot profile.
- The page shows your name, the event that created the profile (This pilot profile belongs to the event) and when the link Expires.
- If you are not signed in, Gaggle asks you to Sign in with your real Gaggle account before claiming this competition profile. Tap Sign in to claim, sign in, and Gaggle brings you back to the claim page. See Sign in and create an account. Use your own account, not a competition device account.
- Once you are signed in, the page also shows the profile’s Competition ID, Nationality and Tracker serials when the organiser entered them. Check that they are yours.
- Tap Claim this profile.
What happens next
Gaggle shows one of two results.
Profile claimed. The profile is linked to your account. Gaggle lists what moved: the equipment items, the recordings and the scoring jobs it queued to score those recordings again. Tap View group to open the event group.
Approval requested. Some events need the organiser to approve a claim. Gaggle shows The organizer needs to approve this claim before the profile can be linked to your account. The profile links to your account after the organiser approves it. You do not need to claim again.
The competition recordings linked to the profile stay under the organiser’s control after you claim it. You keep the profile and your results in your account, and the organiser keeps managing the competition flights.
If the claim does not work
- Invalid claim link: the link is incomplete. Ask the organiser to send you a new claim link.
- Claim unavailable: Gaggle could not load the claim. Ask the organiser to send a new claim link.
- This claim link is no longer active: the page says why. It is one of Pilot already claimed, Claim invite was already revoked or Claim invite expired. Ask the organiser for a new link if you still need one.
- If Gaggle says it could not complete this claim, ask the organiser to check the profile or send a new link.
For organisers
You create profiles and send claim invites in the competition manager. See Competition pilots.
