Reporting points
What airport reporting points are, how to show them on maps, and how to add one to a route (Adventurer plan).
Reporting points
Reporting points are the named points around an airport where pilots report their position. Gaggle draws them on its maps as gates, so you can fly through them or plan a route past them.
Reporting points are part of the Adventurer plan. Pilots on other plans see the Reporting points switch with the plan shown next to it, and tapping it opens the plan sheet.
Turn reporting points on
- Open your profile and tap Settings.
- Tap Personalization.
- Turn on Reporting points. It shows airport reporting points on maps.
If you record a flight with the aircraft set to other aircraft and you have not chosen yet, Gaggle turns reporting points on for you. Your own choice is never changed.
Where they show
Reporting points show on the Explore map, on the route planning map, on the map of a flying site that is an airport, and in flight on the recording map.
On the route planning map, compulsory points appear from a lower zoom level than the others, and their names appear when you zoom in closer.
Look at a reporting point
Tap a gate to open its sheet. It shows:
- the point’s name
- whether it is Compulsory or Not compulsory
- how far it is from you and the bearing to it
- the data credit, Data © openAIP
Add a reporting point to a route
- Open the route and go to Settings > Edit Waypoints. You must be a route admin.
- Zoom in on the airport until the gates show.
- Tap a gate and choose Add to route.
The new waypoint is placed at the gate and named after it. It is added after the waypoint that is selected. See Routes for the rest of the route editor.
