Group Leaderboards

Create, configure, and follow group leaderboards from the current Community flow.

Group Leaderboards

Community > My Groups > Groups > Select a group > Leaderboards

Leaderboards help your group compare flights, tasks, and scoring in one place.

Open your group leaderboards

  1. Open Community.
  2. Tap My Groups.
  3. Select your group from the Groups list. Meetups and competitions are listed under Meetups.
  4. Tap the Leaderboards tab.

A group page has these tabs, shown as icons with a label:

  • Home
  • About
  • Leaderboards
  • Hall of Fame
  • Flights
  • Members in a plain group (Participants in a meetup; Pilots or Participants in a competition)
  • Notices, for meetups and competitions

Leaderboards tab with Create Leaderboard

Members see all of them. Someone who has not joined a plain group sees Home and About only.

Leaderboards are an Adventurer feature in a plain group. Without the plan you see a note to upgrade and cannot open the rows. Meetups and competitions do not need it.

At the top of My Groups, the search icon is Join a public group and the + icon is Create Group.

Create a leaderboard (current 3-step flow)

In the Leaderboards tab, group admins can tap Create Leaderboard. In a competition that scores results, its scorers can too.

The current create flow is a 3-step modal:

  1. Create Leaderboard: choose a task type.
  2. Configuration: set task/scoring configuration.
  3. Create Leaderboard: set Name, optional Date Range, then tap Save.

The Configuration step sets how the task is scored, and its options depend on the task type. Date Range is marked (Optional).

Task types in the Create Leaderboard sheet

Current task types include:

  • FAI Triangle
  • Free Triangle
  • Out and Return
  • Turn Point
  • Flight Time
  • Total Distance
  • Waypoint Hunt
  • Obstacle Course
  • Speed Section
  • Altitude
  • Paragliding Task
  • Paragliding Competition

Judged task and Economy are listed only when the group scores a competition. A Championship is created from the competition manager, not here.

After saving, some task types open a follow-up editor or manager flow (for example Obstacle Course or Paragliding Competition).

Leaderboard Create

The create flow uses Create Leaderboard -> Configuration -> Create Leaderboard (Name, optional Date Range, Save).

View and use a leaderboard

Leaderboard View

From the group leaderboards list, tap the leaderboard you want. Rows can show task names such as Obstacle Course and a status like Leaderboard has no entries yet.

A leaderboard page has these sections. Phones show them as icon tabs, wide screens as a side rail.

  • Leaderboard: the standings.
  • Event replays: replays of the event’s flights. It appears only when replays exist.
  • About: what the leaderboard is and how it is scored.
  • Organise: tools for group admins.

If nobody has scored yet, the page opens on About.

Event replays

Each row is one replay, with its date, time and a status.

  • Recording: the replay is still being recorded. Tap the row to watch it live.
  • Processing: the replay is being prepared. You cannot open it yet.
  • Ready: tap the row to play it.
  • Unavailable: the replay failed and cannot be opened.

If the list cannot load, you see Replays could not be loaded. Tap Try again to ask for it again.

Standings

Each pilot has a card with their score, and the flight when there is one. On the card:

  • Details opens the flight.
  • Replay Flight plays the flight on the map.
  • The More button opens a menu. Everyone gets Flight profile. Admins also get Rerun Scoring and Unlink Flight. On an obstacle course, admins also get Scoring log, which lists every scoring event for that flight.

Some leaderboards show Live published standings or Official task result pending. Official task results may change the ranking.

About

About describes the task, the Date Range and the Scoring Method. For an obstacle course it also has View course. In a competition it shows the event Map scale.

Organise

Organise section of a leaderboard

Group admins see Organise. It has three groups of actions. Some rows show only for certain task types.

  • Event: Date Range (only for a leaderboard that has dates), Edit course (obstacle course), Economy setup (economy), Pilot declarations (obstacle courses) and Manage competition (paragliding competition).
  • Results: Rescore all flights (obstacle course, economy and paragliding competition; it asks you to confirm), Download Excel, Download IGC Tracks (paragliding competitions, and paragliding tasks in events that have dates) and Download Report (paragliding competition), and Export KML (obstacle course). Obstacle courses also have replay rows.
  • Danger zone: Delete leaderboard, which asks you to confirm.

In a competition, organisers can also reach a leaderboard’s tools from the competition manager, under Leaderboard tools. Scorers can Download Excel and Rescore all flights there. Admins also see Organise and the other tools.

For the obstacle course tools, see Obstacle Course.

Judged tasks

A Judged task opens its own results page instead of the sections above. Marshals record what they see, and Gaggle scores it. The page follows the entries as they change, so a result appears soon after a marshal saves it. See Marshal Entry.

  • Pilots are listed best first, with their Score. Equal points share a place and show Tied.
  • With more than one class, tabs above the list switch between classes.
  • A pilot’s row shows how the points are made up, in chips such as Take-off, Landing, Pins, Time, Noise or Awarded. A red chip says why points are withheld, such as Engine on, Fell over or Void.
  • Until a marshal records a result, the page says No results recorded yet.
  • Organisers and scorers also see an edit icon at the top right (labelled Edit setup).

FAQ

Can I edit a leaderboard after it’s created?

It depends on the task type. Some leaderboards are mostly configuration-driven after creation. An Obstacle Course keeps an editor, which admins open with Edit course in Organise.

When are flights added to the leaderboard?

Flights are scored when they match the leaderboard task/scoring criteria and are available to the group.

Can imported flights be added to the leaderboard?

Yes, if they meet leaderboard criteria and are shared with the group.

The leaderboard contains bad data from a flight that was not valid?

An admin can open the entry’s More menu on the leaderboard and tap Unlink Flight. The same action is in the flight’s menu in the Flights tab. The flight is removed from the group and from its leaderboards.
