Course Photos
Look at the course photos before you fly and mark where you saw each one in flight, for automatic scoring.
Course Photos
Some obstacle courses use photos of features on the ground. You find each feature in flight and mark it. Gaggle uses the time and position of your mark to score the photo automatically.
Photos show only after the organisers release them to pilots, which happens when the task window opens or when they release them. Until then there is no Photos row.
Look at the photos before you fly
You can open the photos in two places.
- On the record start screen, after you select the obstacle course. The Photos row shows how many there are.
- On the leaderboard of the course, in the About card. The Photos row shows the same count.
Tap the row to open the photos full screen. Swipe or tap a thumbnail to move between them. Each photo has a letter. You cannot mark anything here. Marking is for the flight.
Mark a photo in flight
- During the flight, open the Photos tool on the competition flight screen. See Competition Flight Screen.
- Swipe or tap a thumbnail in the lettered rail to focus a photo. The tool button shows your place in the set, for example “3/8”.
- When you see the feature on the ground, tap Seen here.
Gaggle saves your position and the time. The button then shows Seen with the time. If you marked the wrong photo, tap Undo and mark again.
If your position is not known yet, the button says Waiting for your position and is disabled.
Marks count only when you make them in flight and before you reveal your position. After a reveal, Seen here is gone.
See how your photos scored
After the organisers release the score of a photo, your flight’s photo list shows the result for each photo: Full, Half, Not found or Not marked. It also shows how far your mark was from the waypoint.
If a photo does not load
Gaggle uses the copy downloaded for offline use when there is one. Otherwise it loads the photo from the internet. A quiet icon shows while a photo loads, and when it cannot be had because it was not downloaded and there is no connection. Open the photos on the ground, while you are online, before you fly.
