Watch Support
Use Gaggle's current Apple Watch and Wear OS companion features during a live recording.
Watch Support
Gaggle currently supports companion watch experiences for both Apple Watch and Wear OS while you are recording on your phone.
Apple Watch
Open Gaggle on your watch, then start recording from the phone app. The watch acts as a companion to the active recorder session on your iPhone.
The current watch experience is designed around live flight support, including:
- flight telemetry
- route and waypoint context
- nearby-friend awareness
- in-flight message support
For the smoothest experience, keep the watch app available during the flight instead of letting the watch immediately drop back to the clock face.
Wear OS
Gaggle also has an active Wear OS companion app. Start the recorder on your phone, then open Gaggle on the watch to follow the same flight.
The current Wear OS app is organised into four horizontal pages:
- controls
- instruments
- waypoints
- friends
This gives you quick access to core flight data, route progress, nearby pilots, and message-related actions from the watch.
Messaging and flight context
The companion watch flows are intended to help during an active flight rather than replace the phone app completely. Depending on the page you are on, you can follow telemetry, review route context, see nearby friends, and use the available message shortcuts.
Other watch platforms
This help guide only covers the watch platforms currently supported by the shipped Gaggle companion apps: Apple Watch and Wear OS. Other watch ecosystems are not part of the current documented companion flow.
